With over two decades of strategic communications expertise, Carmen Mantalas has effectively guided startups, high-growth companies, and Fortune 500 organizations through complex media landscapes. As Founder and Principal of Mantalas Communications, Carmen provides strategic communications counsel and agency support across multiple industries.
Carmen’s experience is unique in that it spans both public relations and analyst relations. She supported Microsoft during the early part of her career and went on to build successful integrated communications programs for clients in various industries, including enterprise tech, AI, robotics, B2B, B2C, financial services, education, HR, e-commerce, and other sectors. Carmen brings extensive knowledge of the changing media landscape and the ability to craft and implement effective media campaigns, thought-leadership programs, and trend-based initiatives that enhance corporate visibility and a positive brand reputation. She is a passionate storyteller and thrives on creating powerful narratives that showcase impact on lives and how businesses are shaping industries for the future.

Virginia is a public relations and marketing visionary who carefully weighs all scenarios, and in her 35 years of PR, she has seen it all. Leveraging experience honed by working in-house and managing agencies big and small, Virginia provides technology, financial services, and consumer companies with a range of communications services. She’s worked closely with executives on product launches, mergers and acquisitions, and other major company news, as well as organized numerous press tours, press conferences, and events.
Based in the heart of Silicon Valley, Virginia also knows how to dive in to create the perfect press strategy by blending news with companies’ core objectives. She is driven by results, and her engagement with and responsiveness to the press are unrivaled.
Kristan Curren Sampson
Kristan Curren Sampson brings over 18 years of public relations experience to Mantalas Communications. She's worked at global, mid-sized, and boutique agencies to help companies of all sizes tell their stories to the media. She provided strategic communications counsel to Microsoft, AMD, Kodak Digital, and Leyard/Planar as the companies brought new products to market and continued storytelling with momentum news, and product updates. She’s created and led third-party reference programs to help corporations’ customers and partners tell their own stories to the media, and support clients' media storytelling. She’s also driven thought leadership campaigns to raise the profiles of executive leaders.
Kristan lives in Carlsbad, California, with her husband, four children, and two dogs.
